Practice Endeavors

Dr. Alex DiFilippo's Story

My wife, Sue, and I enjoyed our time off from COVID so much in 2020 we thought, “hey, we could get used to this!” We enjoy going on cruises, traveling, etc. and financially I don’t really need to work anymore.

Therefore, we were excited to go ahead and sell our general dentistry practice located in Wooster, Ohio.

We contacted Bob Brooks with Practice Endeavors about selling both our practice and our real estate. Bob has about 20 years’ experience in the industry, is a credentialed dental practice broker and licensed real estate broker specializing in dental realty.

Bob explained to us that it is more difficult to sell practices in rural cities like Wooster than in big metropolitan areas like Cleveland.

During our listing agreement period with Bob and Practice Endeavors, my wife and I were well pleased with Bob’s efforts to promote the practice and with the number of qualified buyer prospects that he brought into the office. But because of buyers’ reluctance to work in rural cities, it was very challenging to find a buyer.

Eventually, one of the buyers that Bob introduced to the practice did purchase both the practice and the real estate.

We were satisfied with the practice sale price but one issue we had was the buyer continually pressing us on the real estate price. Because the practice buyer had the option to lease or purchase the office, he continued to push back on the sale price all the way to closing.

Since Bob has a strong background in dental realty, he established an irrefutable basis for the listing price.

As a result of Bob’s efforts, we finally got the real estate price that we wanted. The sale of my dental practice and my real estate would not have occurred except for Bob’s persistence in making things happen.

I found Bob to be trustworthy, knowledgeable and hard working.

Our time on earth is short. I am 60 years old and I already lost my younger sister and my Dad. My wife, and I value the time each week that we spend with my Mom in Cleveland.

As much as I love dentistry and enjoy the relationships with patients, there is more to life than dentistry.

At the end of the day, dentistry is still work and owning a practice is still a burden. Both Sue and I are eager to spend more time together doing what we enjoy.

I am happy to share anything from my practice selling experience if it can be of help to you.”

Sincerely,

Alex DiFilippo, DDS
